Salvia Shasta, also know as Shasta Sage is a well known and widely used product among indigenous people of Central America, also known as the Natives, especially within shamanism. It is part of the purification ceremonies where these spicy plants and their holy smoke is released.
Once this sage bunch is lit, a feather (in this case a beautiful peacock feather) is used to wave the sacred smoke over objects, people and in all corners of a room. The natural abalone shell is used to catch the ash formed.
It is said that this ritual can improve well-being in many ways... a spiritual aid to enhance intuition; to cleanse homes or rooms of impurities; to dispel negative energy; improve mood and reduce stress to name but a few.
